THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, a musical within a comedy, featuring one show-stopping number after another.  A man in a chair puts on his favorite record which comes to life and an evening of madcap delight  begins featuring two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone. With book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and music/lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, Drowsy took Broadway by storm in 2006 winning 5 Tony Awards and 7 Drama Desk Awards including Best Show. Hailed by New York Magazine as “The Perfect Broadway Musical.”
